Terms of Service

1. Who can use Rightswype

You must be at least 18 years old. You must give us a real date of birth, real name, and photos that genuinely represent you. You can have at most one account. If we learn you've given us false information, misrepresented your age, impersonated another person, or created multiple accounts to evade a previous ban, we will terminate the account(s) and may report the matter to law enforcement.

You may not use Rightswype if you are: (a) listed on any applicable government sanctions list; (b) a registered sex offender in any jurisdiction; (c) previously terminated by us, unless we agree in writing.

2. Code of conduct

Rightswype is a place for adults to meet adults. The following are not allowed and may result in account termination, civil liability, or referral to authorities:

• Harassment, threats, stalking, doxxing, or hate speech
• Sexual content involving minors. Zero tolerance — reported to NCMEC and law enforcement
• Soliciting money, gifts, or anything of value (including investment opportunities) from other users
• Romance scams, catfishing, or any deceptive practice
• Impersonating another person, fictional character, or brand
• Photos that aren't you, or photos where multiple subjects make it unclear which one you are
• Nudity, sexually explicit content, or content depicting violence or self-harm
• Promoting services, products, events, or any commercial activity
• Sharing other users' private information outside Rightswype
• Using bots, scrapers, or any automated tooling against the app
• Attempting to reverse-engineer the matching algorithm, scoring system, or other internal systems
• Circumventing account suspensions, IP/device bans, or rate limits
• Content that violates Indian law or the laws of your jurisdiction

Other users can report and block you. We may suspend or terminate your account for any violation, with or without prior notice. For an in-depth list see our Community Guidelines.

2A. Launch-period demo profiles

During Rightswype's launch period (through 31 December 2026), the discover deck may include a limited number of demo profiles. These help us verify the matching algorithm, location filtering, and scoring work as expected before our real user community reaches critical mass.

Demo profiles are clearly marked in our internal systems (account identifiers, internal email pattern). They:

• Do not represent real people — names, photos, ages, and bios are illustrative
• May send a small number of automated, canned replies if you message them — capped at four messages per chat, so they won't carry a conversation. They will never agree to meet, share contact details, or click links
• Are never used to promote, advertise, or solicit anything from real users
• Will be removed by 31 December 2026, or sooner if our active real-user base makes them unnecessary

Any premium feature (boost, super-like) you spend on a demo profile will be refunded in-kind if you email hello@rightswype.com.

3. Content you post

You retain ownership of your photos and what you write. By posting, you grant Rightswype a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable license to host, store, transmit, display, reproduce, and process that content solely to operate the service. The license ends when you delete the content or your account; we may retain logs and backups for the limited periods set out in our Privacy Policy.

You are solely responsible for what you post. You represent that you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe any third-party right (copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contract).

Photos and bios are automatically moderated using third-party AI (see Privacy Policy § 5). We may reject or remove content that violates these terms even if a moderator hasn't reviewed it.

4. Premium subscriptions & in-app purchases

We offer paid tiers (Plus, Gold) via Razorpay. Subscriptions auto-renew at the listed interval (monthly, quarterly, or yearly) until cancelled by you. You can cancel from your Razorpay account or by contacting us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

Refund Policy. See our dedicated Refund Policy for full terms, including the seven-day window for no-questions-asked refunds on first-time subscriptions in line with Indian consumer protection norms.

Pricing may change. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice via email before a renewal at a new price.

5. Ending the agreement

You may end it at any timeby deleting your account via the “Delete account” button on /account. The deletion is immediate and permanent.

We may suspend or end the agreement if you violate these terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law. For serious safety issues — credible threats, content involving minors, fraud — we may suspend immediately and without prior notice. For lesser issues we'll generally notify you first. If we terminate, we will tell you why unless a law or active investigation prevents us.

On termination by either side, you lose access to the service and any unused premium time. Refunds in those circumstances are governed by our Refund Policy.

5A. Cooperation with lawful authorities

As an “intermediary” under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and an intermediary under the IT Rules, 2021:

• We will remove or disable access to content within 36 hours of receiving a valid court order or order from an authorised government agency (IT Rules Rule 3(1)(d)).
• We will provide information or assistance to any authorised government agency lawfully investigating a cyber-security incident or any offence within 72 hours of a written request (Rule 3(1)(g)).
• We preserve a minimal set of records for 180 days after account deletion solely for the purpose of cooperating with lawful investigations (Rule 3(1)(h)). What we retain is set out in our Privacy Policy § 9.
• We do not voluntarily share user data. We disclose only what is specifically required by a valid lawful order and, where permitted, will notify the affected user after the fact.

6. Disclaimers & assumption of risk

Rightswype is provided “as is” and “as available.” We cannot promise the people you match with are honest, safe, or who they say they are — even with our verification and moderation systems. You meet other users at your own risk.Use common sense. Meet new matches in public places. Tell a friend where you're going. Don't send money to people you haven't met. See our Safety Center for practical tips.

Where the law allows, we exclude all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by force majeure (natural disaster, war, pandemic, governmental action, internet backbone failure, third-party hosting outage, etc.).

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to your use of Rightswype is limited to the greater of:

• The amount you have paid us in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
• ₹ 5,000 (Indian Rupees Five Thousand only).

We are not liable for: (i) indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; (ii) loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses; (iii) any conduct or content of any third party, including another user; (iv) any unauthorised access to or use of our servers and any personal information stored therein.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rightswype, our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim, demand, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the service; (b) your violation of these terms or applicable law; (c) your violation of any third-party right (including privacy, publicity, or intellectual property); or (d) your content posted on Rightswype.

9. Dispute resolution

Step 1 — talk to us first. Email hello@rightswype.com with the details. We'll acknowledge within 7 days and try to resolve in good faith within 30 days.

Step 2 — mediation.If we can't resolve directly, both sides agree to non-binding mediation through the Bangalore International Mediation Centre or a mutually agreed mediator, conducted in English, within 60 days of the failed direct resolution.

Step 3 — arbitration. Any dispute not resolved by mediation will be referred to a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Seat of arbitration: Bengaluru, Karnataka. Language: English. The award will be final and binding.

You agree to bring claims on an individual basis only and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date above and (for material changes) notify you in advance via email or an in-app banner at least 7 days before the change takes effect. If you do not accept the change, your remedy is to stop using the service and delete your account before the effective date.

11. Governing law & jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to Section 9 (Dispute Resolution), the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.

12. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines, and the Refund Policy are the entire agreement between you and Rightswype and supersede all prior agreements on the same subject.

Severability. If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all our assets, with reasonable notice to you.
