- What is Rightswype?
- Rightswype is an Indian dating app built around intent — every profile says whether they're looking for a long-term relationship, casual dating, or friendship. Same-city profiles surface first, and selfie-verified profiles get a green tick.
- Is Rightswype free?
- Yes — the core app is free. Optional premium tiers (Plus and Gold) add boosts, super-likes, and priority placement. There is no advertising.
- How does verification work?
- You take a one-time selfie inside the app. Our system matches it against your profile photos using face-match. A successful match earns you the green verification tick. Selfies are stored privately and never shown to other users.
- Is Rightswype only for India?
- Yes, for now. We're India-first and the city picker covers every major Indian city. Profiles are processed and stored in Mumbai (Supabase ap-south-1).
- How is my data protected?
- We're built around India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA). Photos and bios are moderated by automated systems before going live; you can delete your account and all associated data instantly from the Account page; we publish a named Grievance Officer and acknowledge complaints within 24 hours.
- What's the minimum age?
- You must be 18 or older to use Rightswype. We collect date of birth and verification photos to enforce this.
- Can I change which city I see matches from?
- Yes. Tap the city pill on the Discover screen to pick any Indian city — useful if you're travelling, relocating, or open to long-distance.
- How do I report a user or get help?
- Tap any profile or message in the app and tap Report. The reported user is auto-blocked for an hour while we review. For non-app issues, email safety@rightswype.com — a real human reads every message, usually within 12 hours.
- How do I cancel a premium subscription?
- Cancel from your Razorpay account or email billing@rightswype.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. First-time subscribers can request a full refund within 7 days; see the Refund Policy for details.
- Does Rightswype send notifications about every swipe?
- No. We push only matches, new messages, and super-likes — never general activity. You can mute notifications per category in the app's Account settings.
- What happens to my data when I delete my account?
- Your profile, photos, conversations, matches, swipes, blocks, push tokens, and subscriptions are removed from the product within seconds. We retain only a minimal compliance record (email, last sign-in, last IP) for 180 days as required by IT Rules 2021 for lawful investigations, then that record is purged too.
- Are there bots or fake profiles on Rightswype?
- During our launch period (through 31 December 2026) we include a small number of clearly-marked demo profiles to test the matching algorithm at low user volume. They may send up to four canned replies if you message them but will never agree to meet, share contact details, or click links. After 31 December 2026 — or sooner if real-user volume is sufficient — they're removed. Any premium spend on a demo profile is refunded on request.
